Tu entres ici dans un univers dangereux…
Les êtres qui l’habitent sont en effet plus proches des Elfes que des Humains…
Car tout semble n’y être qu’un long rêve… et pourtant ce songe est plus vrai que la réalité, plus proche de la mort que de la vie. Il est… en suspension… comme l’est notre vie à notre insu.
Quant à Delphine Cencig, elle n’est autre que la fée avec sa baguette magique, bonne parfois, maléfique peut-être. C’est elle qui transforme les femmes en poupées ou en criminelles… selon son humeur. Elle s’amuse à les changer en satyre ou à les métamorphoser en somptueux insectes…. d’autant plus redoutables.
Oui redoutables… car ces créature étranges semblent échappées tout droit d’un tableau de Jérôme Bosch ou d’un livre d’Edgar Allan Poe.
La beauté – telle la toile invisible d’une araignée sournoise - n’est jamais loin… qui emprisonne nos sens et nous perd dans une hallucination étrange qui a pour nom la vie. Car la beauté est fatalement tragique. "

"Les photographies de Delphine Cencig dérangent. Ce n’est pas sa technique, irréprochable, ni ses compositions, souvent inspirées par la peinture classique, mais son univers plastique qui déstabilise le spectateur. Il est pourtant d’une étrange beauté, mais cette beauté relève plus de celle adulée par les surréalistes, admirateurs de Lautréamont et de sa rencontre fortuite sur une table de dissection d’une machine à coudre et d’un parapluie, que des canons habituels. On peut aussi y voir des scènes qui pourraient appartenir au monde de Jérôme Bosch ou à celui de la littérature fantastique de Poe ou de Kafka.
Les personnages qui y évoluent ont un statut intermédiaire entre humain et elfe, entre poupée désarticulée et humanité bien incarnée, entre littérature pour adultes et livres d’enfants, entre adoration et sacrilège… L’atmosphère est onirique mais peut virer au cauchemar, comme s’il s’agissait de jeux anodins mais probablement dangereux, d’un perpétuel état d’instabilité entre vie et mort. La sexualité et la sensualité y sont à fleur de peau, mais jamais explicitées. Une forme de féminisme y est exprimée, mais il semble en permanence refoulé par des images qui peuvent faire de la femme une marionnette ou une criminelle, la confiner sous une cloche de verre…
Finalement, dans cet univers en suspension permanente entre des écueils invisibles mais fortement suggérés, ce que Delphine Cencig veut exprimer n’est que le tragique de la condition humaine et, plus spécifiquement, de la féminité…"

11TH ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL COLOR AWARDS HONORS PHOTOGRAPHER DELPHINE CENCIG FROM FRANCE
LOS ANGELES Thursday, March 15, 2018 - Professional photographer Delphine Cencig of France was presented with the 11th Annual International Color Awards Nominee title in the category of Fine Art at a prestigious Nomination & Winners Photoshow streamed Saturday, March 10, 2018.
The live online gala was attended by over 12,500 photography fans around the globe who logged on to watch the climax of the industry's most important event for color photography.
11th Annual Jury members included captains of the industry from Christie's, Paris; Grey Group, New York; The Art Channel, London; Ogilvy & Mather, Amsterdam; Publicis Conseil, Paris; Preus Museum, Norway; Art Beatus, Hong Kong; Netflix, Los Angeles; Whitechapel Gallery, London; and Phillips, New York who honored Color Masters with 709 title awards and 730 nominees in 33 categories.
